A heat recovery unit is an air-handling device that draws outdoor air through ductwork and transfers heat to it from extracted (warmed) indoor air without mixing the air streams. The fresh air is then distributed via ductwork to individual rooms. Both supply and extract air are filtered. In the opposite direction, the unit draws air from rooms, recovers heat from it and exhausts it outdoors.
